Florida and Hernando County History Reference Collection

Most of these titles are located at the Main library. There are circulating copies of some titles. In addition to general histories of people, places and events, these books   include travel guides and memoirs that describe 19th and early 20th century Florida through the eyes of residents and visitors.

Newspapers on microfilm: Microfilm of local newspapers from the 1920's to the 1990's are stored at the Main branch and are available for checkout (the library currently does not have a microfilm machine). Brooksville Newspapers Microfilm Inventory

“Old Brooksville in Photo and Stories” magazine  has been published monthly since 1997. It contains articles and historic photos dating back to the 19th century. The Main library maintains a collection of every issue. 

Vertical Files – located in a file cabinet at the Main Library, this is a collection of clippings, printouts and other miscellaneous items related to Hernando and Florida history.
