Kids Toddler Time

Toddler Time

For Children 18-35 Months Old Accompanied by a Caregiver

No PreRegistration required - All sessions are open.

About the Program

Purpose:   Toddler Time introduces children to quality literature in an entertaining and enriching atmosphere.  It provides the child with an opportunity to learn new words, to be exposed to new concepts, and to interact with new friends in a group experience.  Toddler Time acquaints children with a wide range of library materials and resources, as well as encourages the development of a lifelong love of books and reading.

Program:   Each weekly Toddler Time session is approximately 25 minutes in length. Toddler Time sessions are thematic based and may include flannel board stories, fingerplays, singing, poetry, creative dramatics, puppetry and crafts.  Parents and children are encouraged to extend the magic of Toddler Time by borrowing library materials and sharing Toddler Time fingerplays, stories, songs, and experiences with family and friends at home.

Who is invited?   Toddlers 18-35 months old accompanied by a caregiver.

How can you help?   Parental cooperation is essential for making Toddler Time a pleasant and enriching experience for your child.  For the benefit of your child and other Toddler Time participants, please remember the following:

  • Please discuss Toddler Time with your child before you arrive, explaining that there will be stories, fingerplays, and songs. Also explain that you will be participating with them.
  • Parents will be asked to remove disruptive children from Toddler Time to allow the other children to enjoy the program without distractions.
  • We appreciate your effort to arrive on time each week. Latecomers disrupt not only the children, but the storyteller as well.
  • Remember, the best gift you'll ever give your child is a library card.

Registration:  None is required. All sessions are open.

We hope you and your child have a wonderful, enriching Toddler Time experience!
